Hosting Overseas - Should you do it?

Before you throw out the idea to host overseas, you will need to know some of the numerous advantages and disadvantages of it.
Often times, overseas web hosting service providers offer their packages at a cheaper rate than you can find in the United States. Each country will offer a different price than any other country. The prices in each country are a reflection of their current cost of living. Since the cost of living is higher in some places in the United States than in any other country, web hosting costs are bound to be more expensive in the United States.
On the other hand, by paying a cheaper price for a web hosting service provider overseas, you may be paying for a lower level of customer service and tech support. As you may already know, there is usually some sort of language barrier when it comes to dealing with a country outside of your own. This could mean that the representative you’ve been speaking with hasn’t been able to understand your specific needs what you are asking. You also may not be able to comprehend what the representative is telling you while trying to help fix your problems.
While you may only be thinking about the cost and customer service of overseas web hosting service providers, there are still other things to consider. Let’s say that you are the owner of a small shop in your home town. It is easy to provide your goods and services to your customers that are close to you, but what about your customers across the country? Since they cannot personally come to the store to purchase goods from you, you have to ship your product to them. It takes a little longer, doesn’t it? The same goes for a web hosting service provider that runs overseas. Your customers may experience slight delays while visiting your website, as the transfer rate can be somewhat slower. If this isn’t a factor to you, or you just plan to run an Internet blogging site, overseas web hosts might still be in the running.
Just like any web host in the United States, overseas web hosting service providers have much to offer their customers. They offer the same types of packages and features. Some might even offer services that better cater to your needs. Research multiple companies before making a decision. If you are able to find an overseas web host that is able to fulfill all of your needs, and you don’t feel like the language barrier or slower connection speeds will conflict with what you are providing, overseas web hosting is probably for you. If you run a website in which your customers need quick access to your goods and services, you should probably stick to web hosts in the United States.
Weigh all of your options before you make any decisions. Choose what you feel will work best for you. Most of all, remember that every company has something a little different to offer and that you will find plenty of advantages and disadvantages with whoever you choose to work with.
