I like 1&1, I've got several sites on there shared hosting plan for my affiliates that I run.

A word to the wise, don't let the 50 dollar google ad credits persuade your decision, all the hosting companies offer them these days, and you gotta jump through hoops to receive it. Nothing to do with the hosting companies, it's google, have to do account verification, phone calls, wait a couple of days for activation, and if that's not enough you have use it within 15 days of creating a new ppc campaign, otherwise it's no good. And it has to be on a new account, not existing ones.

I use them to run my affiliate programs that I launch. They've so far been able to handle all the spikes in traffic when I get hundreds of visitors a day and I'm running shared hosting plan.

Overall i give ix webhosting a thumbs up. Ticket responses tend to be slow, maybe this is do to outsourcing, but they always seem to fix the issue after submission.

I don’t know what the above individual is referring to. I’ve always like their service, been with ipower for several years now. Customer service is always available.

Secondly, I assume the above poster is running his site with shared hosting. I could be wrong. This is only an assumption. Why do people do this; you should never run an ecommerc site with shared hosting, unless you're just starting out and aren't expecting much traffic. If you are getting sells out the wazu, you should be able to afford more than 4.99 a month.

Yahoo baby! Well they are good if you're looking to build an online store quickly. Their customer service is kind of bad, and their faq section seems to be lacking, had problems trying to get to import a bunch of products via csv file. I guess i'm use to Amazon's system, which is far superior for uploading products.

Ok, sooner or later, everyone has been around the block with their hosting ordeal, trying one after another. And like most, i've ran into problems with this one. My site tends to be down quite a lot over the last several weeks. A couple of times it's been down for hours on end, which is totally unacceptable, even their site seem to go down, so that should tell you something. Not recommended for ecommerce. It seems like finding a bad hosting company is like shooting a fish in a barrel.
